Jack the Destroyer part 2

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

One day, Sheil and I decided to sleep a little later than usual.  Star was playing quietly in her room and we had assumed Jack was playing in his crib.  Jack was bored, and we had no idea that he was capable of escaping the crib.  Here is the photo of Jack and the crime scene when we walked into his room.

Sabrina and Jashub came to town!!!!!!

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

We love it when people visit! Sabrina and Jashub came to town with Sara in their back pocket on Valentines weekend. We scored some cheap rooms at the fancy Hotel Whitcomb on Market st. in San Francisco. We had some good times. We only had one day to boogie, so we woke, haighted, beached, warfed, scarfed and carouseled all in a short sun up to sun down.

Good Times!

Star, Jake, and the club

Star and Jacob Bader (aka jakey bader) first became friends shortly after birth.  Star had to wait at a few days after her birth to meet Jake, but when she did, it was a love connection.

Jake and Star 2

Jake and Star have always liked each other a great deal, but it’s no secret that they haven’t always got along.  More times than not, it is the same one of them who comes out with their feelings hurt.  Everyone has tried to help them play nice together, but sometimes you just can’t make it happen.  Guess who got the blunt end of the stick this time.

Jack the Destroyer

One fine day in January of ‘07, Jack decided to make a dive in the tub. We were living in a hotel in Sacramento, because we were between housing, and frankly, unable to make any decisions. I had left my cool new razor phone on the bed. Jack had just finished dressing in his PJ’s and Star was in the bath tub. Jack in a sudden sprint across the room, swiped my cell phone, ran into the bathroom and dove head first into the bath tub with his fuzzy footed jammies and my cool new phone. If you look close at the picture, you can see the razor phone at the bottom of the tub.

One day we were on an adventure that took us to the Bay Area. While shopping for clothes there, Star decided she had what it took to be America’s Next Top Model

Air Travel

I decided rather all of the sudden that it might be a good idea to chronicle the events of our growing family. I want to post a disclaimer at the beginning of this for any who take the time to read. I have a tendency to forget to use spell check. I also sometimes miss basic rules of punctuation and grammar because the ideas seem to jump to my fingers and into the keyboard without visiting the English learning section of my brain. With that said, here we begin.

It is about 9 pm on a Sunday evening and we are on our way home from Utah. We are sitting on an airplane right now somewhere between Reno, NV and Oakland, CA. With only three seats to a row, it was a toss-up as to who would sit where and with what kids. Sheila, Uncle Jake, Star, Jack and I are all traveling together and the three adults try to share the responsibilities.

Jack doesn’t seem to ever be interested in sitting apart from me. So no matter what the seating arrangement is, he’s going to climb over to me and sit on my lap. He has a real infatuation with abusing me. I think it is great for him to learn to punch and kick, but I seem to be the only target.

Tonight, I am sitting with Jack at the window, Star in the middle, and me in the aisle seat. Right now I have Jack and star both sedated with a cartoon on my apple video ipod. We have figured out how to fasten it to the back of the seat in front of us. This is the quickest way to turn your coach flight into a first class flight. Which reminds me, on a Southwest airlines flight, I always have a good time asking when first class is. The flight attendant always answers that it is open seating and I always get to reply. “..oh that’s right, Southwest has no class.” He he he.
